Islam sanctions deception in certain cases, particularly where infidels (non-Muslims) are concerned. It is permitted to advance the cause of Islam, and in some cases to gain the trust of non-believers so that they become vulnerable and can be defeated.
The best know term for this is taqiyya. Another is tawriya, which has to do with intentionally creating a false impression.
The way to know if the Palestinian Arabs are telling the truth is to pay attention to what they say to their own people.
Of course, when they speak to their own people, they do it in Arabic. As many of us do not speak Arabic, it is important to have reliable sources for translation. Two such sources are:
Palestinian Media Watch – PMW
MEMRI – Middle East Media Research Institute
A few example of the sort of truth that is uncovered on these sites:
When Mahmoud Abbas speaks to Westerners, he claims that the PLO wants a “two state solution” with a Palestinian state and Israel living in peace side by side. However, this is not what is said in PA textbooks and media sources.
1) PMW tells us that a PA textbook for 12th grade says:
“Palestine’s war ended with a catastrophe that is unprecedented in history, when the Zionist gangs stole Palestine … and established the so-called State of Israel.”[Arabic Language, Analysis, Literature and Criticism, grade 12, p. 104]
It is accompanied by this illustration:
2) PMW also tells us that Deputy Secretary of Fatah Revolutionary Council, Majed Al-Fatiani, speaking on official Palestinian TV on January 1, 2018, said:
“It is not enough that only the residents of Jerusalem stand against [the occupation] in its streets, alleys, and neighborhoods… This act needs to spread over all of the Palestinian land between the [Jordan] River and the [Mediterranean] Sea. Our identity is between the river and the sea. Our national popular sovereignty is between the river and the sea.”
The PA says it wants peace.
MEMRI reports that:
1) Sheikh Muhammad Ayed “Abu Abdallah”, in an Al-Aqsa Mosque address on January 12, 2018, said:
“We need a caliph with his finger on a nuclear button, Like Kim Jong-un.”
2) Fatah Revolutionary Council Member Muhammad Al-Laham, speaking on the official Palestinian Authority TV channel on January 1, 2018, praised a number of terrorists, saying they are “more honorable than all of us.”
Israeli Arab journalists — who associate with the PA and are willing to tell the truth about what they know — provide additional information in English about what is said in Arabic.
Perhaps the best known of these journalists is Khaled Abu Toameh. In November 2017, for example, he related what Yasser Arafat said about why Camp David failed:
“First of all, the Jews did not give me 100 percent. Secondly, the Jews wanted me to end the conflict after I get what I get and who am I, Yasser Arafat, to end the conflict. I’m not authorized to give up the right of return. I am not authorized to make any concessions in Jerusalem on behalf of 1.5 billion Muslims. Because if I make such concessions, I will end up drinking tea up there with Anwar Sadat.” [dead]
The videos of the Center for Near East Policy Research are also recommended for learning the truth about Palestinian Arab intentions.
The Center sends Arab film crews into UNRWA schools and camps to see what the children are actually taught.
“Camp Jihad” filmed in 2015 is a particular eye opener:
